Since Google's Panda update, it is increasingly important for firms to concentrate on improving the quality of the URLs they have indexed when trying to boost their search engine optimisation (SEO) campaigns, an expert has stated.
In a piece for Search Engine Land, AudetteMedia president Adam Audette, said this is one of the important changes firms must make.
He asserted that companies should identify their valuable URLs and focus their efforts on ensuring these are optimised properly and indexed.
Mr Audette asserted that duplicated, unnecessary or low-value URLs should be removed from the index and that internal links to high-value web pages should be built up.
"The new SEO, at least as far as Panda is concerned, is about pushing your best quality stuff and the complete removal of low-quality or overhead pages from the indexes," he concluded.
